I feel better from the cold now, but I still have very thick mucus, that I am coughing up (Thank God). I comes out through my mouth and also my nose, strange thing that it's coming through the nose, that usually only happend when I was a child. Snot :) It's very thick and I have to blow my nose very forcefully (it's a bit embarrasing to do at work, but it has to come out). This makes it hard for me to breath through the nose, so I am mouth wide open all the time.
I am using hypertonic saline, have been on it for about a year I think, and it's amazing stuff. It dries out my mucus and makes it easier to cough up. I love it. If I have had a cold like this prior to being diagnosed, without the saline, I for sure would have felt much worse, and maybe even developed pneumonia...?
I am also still on oral antibiotics, started over 14 days ago, but I continue to take it while I still have yellow mucus. And I feel better when I am on oral antibiotics, my body doesn't hurt and I don't have pain in my lungs. I am going to discuss this with my doctor at my next appointment.

Cold
So... it's been a while. At my last post, I talked about being back to work. I was back for about 1 and a half week, and then me and Luis (my boyfriend) went on holiday to the Faroe Islands (my home country). It was a nice 10 days, being with my parents and visiting my friends. Healthwise I was ok. I was still getting over the last infection I had... I stayed faithfull to my treatments and enjoyed the holidays. There was one day I felt the need to relax, so that day we stayed in, but the rest of the days we went sightseeing, and drove around the islands. The weather was pretty bad, wind and rain.
I started oral antibiotics last weekend. I felt tired and had an increased cough with phlem. And like two days ago I caught a cold, which started with a dry coughs and a very sore throath. Now it's progressed to sneezing and I am coughing up a lot of phlem. It's been yellow but today it's a bit darker. I hope I get over this soon, and don't have to stay in bed to recover. Luckily next Monday is fiesta in Spain, so I have a long weekend.

Some CF stuff
The previous posts are taken from my blog at a cystic fibrosis forum I frequently visit. There are some typing errors, which I mean to get round to correcting... :o)
When I was first diagnosed, people used to ask me if it's serious, and I used to say no, not that serious, I mean it's "mild" CF. It's not CF. But now I've come to realize that I do have CF, it's mild, but CF is CF.
Today is my first day back at work after being away sick for 3 weeks, the last two weeks on home IV's. My first. The one I had in the Faroe Islands, was not completely a IV, as I didnt have a picc line inserted. I started the IV treatment, after a summer of feeling not 100 percent, and being on numerous antibiotics that didn't get rid of my dark green phlem. So my doctor decided to try IV, and it helped. I feel much better now, and hope it continues.
At my latest clinic visit my FEV1 was at 84, it's usually around that. Before starting IV, and being admitted, it had dropped down to around 76, huge leap actually. Now it's back up to normal. I intend to keep it there and/or increasing it. I need to do more exercise, I'm a lazy CF'er unfortunatly :o/
My doctor mentioned that he wants me take a sugar test, to check for CFRD. He doesn't think I have CFRD, I hope not, becasue I am PS.
I am currently taking sinisitus treatment, as after leaving the hospital (I was in for 3 days, to learn how to inject the IV treatment) I caught a bit of a cold, and wanted to avoid a sinus infection. I am finishing the treatment soon.
